Privacy Policy

1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Hammer Radio website (hammerradio.live) and the Hammer Radio iOS application (bundle ID: live.hammerradio.app), collectively referred to as "the Service," operated by Hammer Media & Entertainment LLC.
By using the Service you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Display name (nickname) — chosen by you when you enter live chat. Stored locally on your device and in our chat database. No real name, email address, or social handle is required or collected.
- Chat messages — text messages you send in the live chat room, including song requests and any text you submit through the Requests feature.
- Photos & images — images you voluntarily share in the chat. These are uploaded to Cloudinary for storage and delivery.
- Voice messages — audio recordings you voluntarily send in the chat (iOS app). These are stored temporarily and subject to the same retention rules as chat messages.
Information collected automatically
- Device push token (iOS app, with permission) — used solely to deliver "Show is Live" notifications.
- Listener presence — a non-identifying record that your session is actively connected to the stream, used to display listener counts. No personal identifiers are attached.
- Standard server logs — IP address, browser/device type, pages visited, and timestamps, retained for up to 30 days for security and diagnostic purposes.
What we do NOT collect
- Email addresses or passwords
- Real names or physical addresses
- Payment or financial information
- Location data
- Social media account information
3. How We Use Your Information
- To operate and display the live chat room
- To deliver and display song requests during live broadcasts
- To send push notifications when the show goes live (iOS, opt-in only)
- To display current listener counts
- To investigate and resolve technical issues
- To enforce our Community Guidelines and moderate the chat
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
4. Microphone & Camera Access
The iOS app may request access to your device's microphone and camera.
- Microphone — used only when you actively record and send a voice message in chat, or use the call-in feature. Audio is never captured passively.
- Camera / Photo Library — used only when you choose to share an image in chat. No photos are accessed without your explicit action.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device Settings. Revoking them disables voice messaging and image sharing but does not affect any other functionality.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
The website uses browser localStorage to store your chosen chat nickname and a randomly-generated session identifier. No tracking cookies are set. No third-party advertising cookies are used.
6. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing their data practices.

7. Data Retention
- Chat messages — the most recent 80 messages are retained in our database. Older messages are automatically removed.
- Voice messages and images — retained as long as the associated chat message exists, then removed when the message is purged.
- Song requests — retained for the duration of the broadcast season and deleted periodically.
- Push tokens — retained while the app is installed and active. Removed on uninstall or when the token is invalidated.
- Server logs — up to 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to the Service, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your chat messages, nickname, or any other data associated with your session identifier at any time by contacting us. Because we do not collect email addresses, contact must be initiated through our contact page or directly during a live show.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
